Blog vs. Wiki

Blogs and Wiki have something similar to each other, at the same time differences that divide them into two categories of new media. First of all, both blogs and wikis are created by human, not only the media themselves, but also millions of entries people have put on them. Although the creators of blogs and wiki had given both types of media their own mission, it's media themselves to shape what they are once generally used by the public. Blogs are used mostly for personal purposes,  people share their stories on blogs and people who read the blogs may comment on whatever is being delivered by the blogs. Blogs are a way of communication in terms of personal contact, this type of communication goes from soul to another soul. For example, as Michael Wilson stated in the article 'Brooklyn Blog Helps Lead to Drug Raid', it was blog that gathers people together and acted as the media to trade information. Without the presence of blog, they would never know so many things could happen in one day in the area they live in. On the other hand, Wiki, the online free encyclopedia, had just made its evolution. According to what Noam Cohen stated in the article 'Wikipedia Will Limit Changes to Articles on People', Wikipedia now has a new feature called flagged version, this new version requires experienced volunteers to edit for Wikipedia. This basically means from now on, Wiki is going to become more and more professional. Which is a good thing, because encyclopedia requires someone who is experienced and professional. Wiki goes from one single point to public, it's delivered to the public whether they wish to know it or not, it not only represents a piece of information, it also represents authority and truth, unlike blogs which usually satisfy the 'diary' purpose for human beings.
