A Twitter discussion is more open compare to the BlackBoard discussion, because it is available outside of the school system. It's possible that professional workers of the topic outside of school system would be able to see and give students their experiences & advice. However, on the technical level, twitter post has a word limit, BlackBoard doesn't, this fact makes BlackBoard an more ideal place to express academic thoughts.
In-class discussion is a face to face type of discussion. It's interaction between real people with real people, the discussion comes from brains and can be expressed directly instead of an indirect way such as typing or posting. Comments, feedback can also be received within seconds after delivering discussion. But this kind of discussion is limited only within the classroom.
